Movement Efficiency Assessment

  • Once an athlete completes our Performance Test Battery that consists of a number of drills that assess the athletes balance, absolute power, agility, muscular strength, speed and endurance we then complete the entire process and pave the athlete’s way to significantly improved function and performance with our Movement Efficiency Assessment.
  • This is a comprehensive assessment that observes and identifies any muscular imbalances, inefficient movement patterns (athletic position, jumping, hitting, throwing, running, change of direction etc.), range of motion, flexibility, mobility and strength that could significantly limit the athlete’s potential to dramatically improve their performance and potentially risk an injury if not addressed and fixed.
  • Once all of the assessments are complete we then address every test result with the athlete.  In our opinion it is absolutely critical that the athletes understand exactly what is not efficient and the steps needed to be taken to increase their efficiency and ultimately, performance.  From amateur to professional athlete, until specific attention is brought to an area needing improvement that athlete is unconsciously incompetent; having no idea that an inefficient movement pattern or suboptimal skill necessary for maximal performance even exist in their body.  It is our job to progress our athletes to a level of unconscious competence – where the most efficient movements and skills are performed flawlessly time and again, without their conscious thought, for optimal performance.  This level of learning and performance begins with our Movement Efficiency Assessment.  First through our assessment, then through our feedback and specific coaching and teaching to better improve compliance with the athlete and finally through our corrective exercise drills.
